This inaugural RDF workshop, delivered in partnership with Parliament’s Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee (CIOC), marks the Foundation’s formal entry into institutional strengthening. Held over five days at the Argyle Grand Hotel, the programme brings together CIOC Secretariat staff and Members of Parliament for an intensive, hands-on engagement on constitutional oversight.
Participants explore the CIOC’s audit mandate, examine comparative constitutional experiences, and undertake the practical work of translating constitutional provisions into measurable indicators. The goal is not theory, but action—producing a functional Constitutional Audit Matrix and a clear oversight roadmap as Kenya approaches the 2027 election cycle.
In her opening address, RDF Chairperson Prof. Pamela Raburu emphasized that “operationalizing constitutional audits is not merely a technical exercise; it is a governance imperative.” The workshop reflects RDF’s mission to build long-term, practical partnerships that strengthen institutions from within and promote accountable governance across Kenya.
